About
the need to
bring joy to the lives of seniors
Did you know that more than 130,000 senior citizens in the state of Texas reside in nursing homes or assisted living facilities? These individuals struggle with significant health challenges that are only amplified as they contend with feelings of isolation, loneliness, and loss of independence.
We started Joy for Seniors to improve the lives of seniors residing in care facilities in Central Texas. Using the arts as a platform for social connection and community engagement, we promote dignity and well-being among seniors, with an emphasis on bringing joy to economically disadvantaged and disabled individuals in underserved communities.

Behind the Initiative
Artly World is a 501c3 nonprofit based in Austin, TX.
For more than a decade, we’ve been serving communities in Central Texas through programs we created for people of all ages, backgrounds, and abilities to engage in meaningful and beneficial experiences through the arts.
Our Mission
We’re on a mission to bring joy to the lives of isolated seniors in our community by using the arts to inspire, restore, and rejuvenate inter-generational relationships between children, adults, and elders. Our vision is to build a world where all seniors feel supported, valued, and empowered.

Real Impacts on the Lives of Seniors
In 2023, with the support of grant funding from Texas Commission on the Arts, we embarked on an initiative to provide beneficial arts programs to seniors in low-income care facilities in Austin. Over the past two years, the program has expanded beyond arts classes to include an annual seniors’ art exhibition and public outreach endeavors promoting volunteerism and generating greater public awareness about the needs of seniors in our community.
